Sarah qualified as a Medical Doctor (MB BCh BAO) in 2002, from Queens University, Belfast. After several years working in various areas of medicine in both Northern Ireland and Australia, she trained as a GP and became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2010.
Through her work as a GP she became aware of the huge prevalence of mental health issues in the community and the significant overlap between mental and physical health. She undertook further training and qualifications in mental health which led her to the role of Psychotherapist. She has achieved Master Practitioner in Emotional Freedom Technique, Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and Obesity, and Advanced Patterns in Psychotherapy. She is currently working towards accreditation with UKCP.
Sarah takes a holistic and individualised approach to her clients, looking at their physical, mental, emotional, and dietary health. She helps clients reach their goals in a way that fosters ongoing positive changes for the future.
Working as a Psychotherapist with Life Therapies Clinic, Sarah is a specialist in the psychological approach to weight management and eating disorders, as well as general mental health concerns. She has a particular interest in obesity management as it has strong links with other health problems such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. She prides herself on having an open and informal nature, putting patients at ease from the first consultation.
