I provide a private professional therapy practice at Life Therapies Clinic offering dedicated treatment for all aspects of Mental Health. I offer a holistic, integrative and individualised treatment approach combining Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy , Neurolinguistic Programming, Cognitive Psychology (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing).
Alongside my private practice, I work for several Employee Assistance Programme Providers and for GP Surgeries in West and North Belfast (Shankill Road & Falls Road). I specialise in treatment of all Anxiety Disorders such as Panic Disorder, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobias etc dual-diagnosis, Trauma/P.T.S.D.
I also run workshops around Anxiety Disorders, Introduction to CBT/NLP/EFT. These workshops have proved highly popular and provide delegates with a powerful range of resources and tools, as well as learning to use the therapies in everyday life situations.

I studied Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for three years (Masters Level) on an Accredited IACP/BACP Course that included an in depth understanding and treatment of Anxiety Disorders, and in particular Trauma and Panic Attacks. The understanding of Schemata, Underlaying Assumptions and Personality Disorders. Included on the course was Schema Therapy, working with Elderly Clients, Eating Disorders, Dysmorphic and Adjustment Disorders.
Whilst studying on the CBT Course, I was First Year Study Advisor, Fundraiser, Admin Staff, AGM Presenter, Seminar Presenter, IT/Website Manager and Secretary for the Charitable Committee.
I trained in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy in 2006, and that course also included Mnemodynamic Therapy, EFT and NLP techniques. I continued in a Hypno psychotherapeutic role and completed my Advanced Patterns in Hypnopsychotherapy. (Post Graduate Diploma)
I have worked for several GP Surgeries, Community Services, Large Corporations (Translink, Wincanton, Unite, Woodside, DHL, Marks & Spencers). Staffcare, Carecall, PPC Worldwide, Health Assured, Red Poppy, Optum, Lenadoon Counselling Project, Corporate Support, BCTC and National Phobics Society.
I was a Lecturer in Counselling with BIFHE/BMC providing an OCN level 2 Course to students.
I have created and presented several courses to community members and organisations such as Anxiety Management, Understanding of Anxiety Disorders and have presented Hypnotherapy for Health Days at Local Community groups.
I have attended many courses to help broaden my knowledge, such as, ASIST: Suicide training awareness. ASCERT: drugs awareness. A two day Stress Management/ Confidence Building workshop (17& 18/5/2003) by Gladeana McMahon: Chartered Psychotherapist held at Queens University Belfast. Attended an Assertion & anti-bullying training workshop (15/7/2003) held by Dr Helena Schlindwein. I attended a two day Seminar on Research (Dr Gerry Mulhern) and Racism (Fee Ching Long) at QUB, Psychology Department on 26& 27 June 2004.
Therapy Supervision (4.8.2003-July 2004) with Dr S.McCarney, Clinical Psychologist, Holywell Hospital, Antrim. Attended supervision with John Friel, Counselling Psychologist. Dr Hugh Quigley & Chris Haygarth. Kathleen Savage, Anne Kelly BCTC, Mark Wake and Lisa Wake (UKCP ex chair) Anne Reilly (IACP approved Supervisor) and currently Dr Ann Long.
I received a Certificate in Hypnotherapy after a Hypnosis training Workshop in November 2003 held by Dr David Oakley and Dr Val Walters of University College London. I attended an Accreditation Workshop in 2004 held by Dr Sally Aldridge. I received a certificate in ‘Moving & Handling’ in 2005 from ‘Health Matters’ Newry. I attended a workshop on Epilepsy education in 2005 by Miss Ena Bingham, Sapphire Epilepsy Nurse Specialist (RVH), This was an introductory guide and overview on Epilepsy. I attended a Motivational Interviewing course 2005 with Mr Glenn Hinds, Derry.
I have experience of working with family members that have Dementia and their carers from 2006 – 2008.
I have worked with Mr Chris Padro on his EFT Practitioner Course 2010. I completed a certificate course in EMDR 2011.
I have a Diploma in NLP 2012.
I recently completed a course on Focusing (Daneo Services).
I have also completed over 100 hours of Supervision Training.
I am now registered by UKCP as a Clinical Psychotherapist.
